Updated rate files are now available for use with the EPICURE programs:

• 1970 – 1995 SEER cancer incidence rates for Black and White populations with 52 categories and population size data
• 1925 – 1995 US Mortality rates for White and Non-white populations with 62 categories and population size data

These files are available as both BST and OXR files. The BST files are for use with the new LOOKUP function that allows you to add rates using transformations in any of the Epicure programs. There are two files for each set of rates. A header (text) file with the BSH extension and the actual rate data in a binary file with the BST extension. There is one BSH/BST file set for the SEER rates and another for the mortality rates. The LOOKUP function is available in version 2.10 and later. Documentation on the LOOKUP function and utilities for converting OXR files to the new format can be downloaded here. Registered users of version 2 can contact HiroSoft for updates.

If you use the Datab GETRATES command to add external rates to Epicure files you should download the OXR files. There are two OXR files for incidence and two for mortality.
